If you were to walk by a vineyard planted to Pinot Gris, you would think it was a red wine. (The skins of Pinot Gris are greyish blue.) So if a winemaker decides to leave the skins involved in the begging stages of fermentation, the wines develop a beautiful blush/copper color.
